I Promised a Post About Alpacas.

And I realise that was a few days ago, so as I'm having a break from revising Shakespeare, I'll fill you in on my adventures.

Last Sunday I awoke at the crack of dawn, or at least that was what it felt like. I had a meeting to be at for 10am the other side of London, and so I rolled out of bed and did the notorious vicki-type-thing, and ended up being late. Meeting finished, some friends and I decided to head to Vauxhall for some munch before heading back to Central London for church in the afternoon.
Wandering around the back streets of south London and what to our wondering eyes should appear, but an alpaca, a goat, and a grossly clucking turkey. We'd stumbled across Vauxhall City Farm, which is exactly what it says. A farm in the middle of the city. There were horses, and ducks, and chickens and pigs and shetland ponies. And even better...it was FREE! So of course, we went in and had a look around.

We got to watch ducklings swimming for the first time, play with the crazy chickens and learnt to milk a cow. In the ecology garden there was a carved tree that held four musicians playing folk music. They encouraged us to dance, so we did. Oh and we got to help make some wool too.

It was very, very exciting. Possibly more so because London is not the place I expect to see sheep and alpacas. The alpaca was my favourite. So, amongst some other snaps, here's a photo of me being an alpaca.

Love amios xoxo

Primroses and Picnics

The first picnic of the year! Today it was gloriously sunny, and London was lit up with summer glow. So, armed with the works of Shakespeare, several bags of food and a blanket, I headed to Primrose Hill with some friends for a bit of a 'working lunch'.

We've got a deadline looming so we didn't feel we could take the entire day off of work, and yet carrying the entire 4,000 page anthology of Shakespeare to north London was perhaps a little unnecessary as we instead spent our time eating, taking photos and rolling Babybels down the hill as in the advert.. Ba, ba, ba, baaa, babybel!

Another day of enjoying the city, and another reason I am so sad I'm not here through summer. I'm not saying life is perfect in London, but there is something about catching a glimpse of how huge and beautiful the capitol is that just makes me want to run around and enjoy it all.

For now, I'll make do with photos such as this one, to keep me entertained.

And so it is time for bed for me. One of the bessies and I are shopping tomorrow as she's in London. I desperately need to get hold of a dress for a wedding on Saturday! Oh golly. Anyway, rest calls.

Good night chickens :)

Julius Caesar

Having completed five essays in seven days I am now free of assignments until after Christmas.
I did actually take part in a small victory dance and a high five.

Tonight I have painted my nails a festive green and watched the beautiful Love Actually, filling myself with smushy feelings and thoughts of Christmas. Tomorrow the shopping begins. I am hoping for lots of good ideas and inspiration.

Night for now chickens.

Love x

PS - I love the typewriter in this.

Romeo and Juliet

One of the modules I am absolutely loving at the moment is Shakespeare. It's vaguely familiar and we've been doing exciting plays so far.

Anyway, tonight I had to translate some of Romeo and Juliet into modern English for a seminar discussion for tomorrow. Seriously, times like this, my singleness is wasted.

I think I need to get me some wings.
